Description

The mission of the Children's Law Center of Massachusetts is to promote and secure equal justice and maximize the opportunities of low-income children and adolescents by providing quality advocacy and legal services.

The Law Center maintains a state-wide telephone helpline for parents, adolescents and attorneys to assist professionals seeking assistance and guidance on legal issues affecting children.

Issues routinely addressed through intake calls include, but are not limited to: out-of-school children or children not receiving the educational services to which they are entitled under federal and state law; emancipation; immigration; the rights of children "removed" from foster care or other state human service systems; and collateral consequences of juvenile court involvement.
