FREE Legal Assistance
The qualifications of low-income Miami-Dade County residents may be eligible for legal aid from Dade's legal aid to attorney employees or referral through the Put Something Back Pro Bono Project, which screens and relates civil issues to frame donated attorneys and volunteer law firms.
To be eligible, a client must reside in Miami-Dade and their income must not exceed 125-150% of the federal poverty guidelines.
An organization can benefit from free services if its purpose is to serve eligible clients or consists primarily of suitable clients provided that the project can locate a pro bono lawyer to serve a consultant to the group.
Many of their lawyers are fluent in several languages, so Spanish speakers and Creole speakers are encouraged to seek help.
In an effort to ensure that legal services and/or the additional offer of Dade Legal Aid are accessible, they offer appropriate tools and services at no cost to deaf or hearing impaired clients and counsellors.
If you need a special/ancillary accommodation to participate in your program, you can contact Eileen Coto at ecoto@dadelegalaid.org or call 305-579-5733 ext. 2240 to apply for accommodation/auxiliary aid.
