The Homeless Action Centre provides free legal aid through a range of public assistance programmes, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medi-Cal, CalWorks, General Assistance (GA), Food Stamps and Cash Assistance Programs for Immigrants (CAPI).
They also provide informal advice and referrals for non-performance-related legal issues.
Eligibility:
All residents of Alameda County on low incomes and with disabilities are eligible for the services of HAC.
HAC represents individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including Cambodian refugees, former prisoners, children in foster homes, survivors of domestic violence and homeless veterans, to name but a few.
Office hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Closed for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm)
Closed Tuesday morning, open at 1:00 pm.

During rush hour:
All day Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; afternoon Tuesday.
