Description

The Homeless Action Center provides free legal assistance with a range of public benefits programs, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Medi-Cal, CalWorks, General Assistance (GA), Food Stamps, and Cash Assistance Programs for Immigrants (CAPI). 

They also provide informal advice and referrals for non-benefits related legal issues.

Eligibility:

• All low-income, disabled residents of Alameda County are eligible for HACs services. 
• HAC represents individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including Cambodian refugees, previously incarcerated individuals, children in foster care, survivors of domestic violence, and homeless veterans, to name but a few.

Hours of operation:

• Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday
