Description

Acadiana Legal Service Corporation is a private, not-for-profit law firm, provides free legal aid in civil cases to those who cannot afford it.

A person becomes their customer by requesting their assistance, being accepted as a new customer and signing a retainer.

In order to be accepted, you must be financially qualified or 60 years of age or older and reside in their Service Area.

Financial eligibility is determined by comparing the size of the family, annual income, and other family resources with the federally published annual poverty line.

This process starts with contacting one of their offices to apply.

Once you become one of their clients, your problem is assigned to one of their lawyers or paralegals based on the nature of the legal problem and availability of staff.
