Description
The Legal Aid of East Tennessee's mission is to ensure equal justice for the elderly, victims of abuse and low-income people by providing a wide range of civil and defense legal assistance.
LAET offers civil legal services ranging from information and counseling to complex litigation and advocacy for people on low incomes.
LAET presents a wide variety of topics related to the right to low income groups, nonprofits and others in the community through their speaker office.
LAET has special programs for seniors and victims of domestic violence, but these programs can be provided to those whose income and assets exceed the majority of service limitations, with the permission of the funding source. LAET also provides funding and staff for pro bono projects that recruit, support and utilize volunteer attorneys and other professionals to expand services.
