Description

Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAGV) is the leading provider of civil legal aid and civil rights services.

Their mission is to ensure that the most vulnerable of us - low-income families, seniors, victims of domestic violence, the disabled - have equal access to justice, the courtroom and their communities.

Legal aid receives grants so they can provide assistance for free.

They do not charge for their services, but if they take your case, you may have to pay certain legal costs or other related costs.

To get help from lawyers and legal aid staff, you usually have to meet certain eligibility requirements.

In general, you must be considered low-income or a victim of domestic violence to benefit from the help of their civil legal aid program.

There are some exceptions, so if you're not sure, call to apply.
