TeamChild uses its legal expertise and community partnerships to break down barriers to community services in order to overcome the root causes of a young person's involvement in the juvenile justice system.
Children's teams typically work with youth ages 12-18 who come from low-income families and are involved or at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile justice system.
Some of the young people they serve are accused of crimes.
Some have already been convicted and are on probation or probation.
Other youth may have contact with the juvenile court for dependency (foster care) issues, or for a Child in Need of Services (CHINS), Youth at Risk (ARY), or truancy petition.
